This may be old news to you guys but I thought I'd share anyway. As you all know, Warren Ellis used to write Hellblazer. Long story short, there was an issue that dealt with school shootings. DC never printed it. Well, here it is with art. Keep in mind as soon as DC gets wind of the site, it will be taken down. On a related note, Waid wrote an issue of Captain America that was never released. He quit Marvel because of it. Have those pages ever surfaced?

wow. that was great. another reason why Ellis is hands down my favorite writer out there today. I just love it when something really bad happens, then we, as a country, turn a blind eye to addressing the issue so it can go away. too bad it never does.

The issue of Captain America (issue #14, I think) was essentially the origin of the Red Skull. Marvel essentially made their changes and Waid told 'em to drop his name from the issue. I've never seen the pages...I assume the changes were just done on the actual pages they work with.

Well, Scott, I had been posting at Warren Ellis' Delphi forum on a fairly frequent basis for at least a year, and I had thought everything was okay until one morning in 2001 when to my chagrin I found I had been gagged at the forum. He gave me no warning or explanation, and he ignored five separate e-mails I sent him asking why I had been banned and what I could do to get the ban lifted. The upshot of all this is that Ellis basically treated me like crap and more or less blew me off when I tried to find out why.

No, Chris... you're missing the point. So, the guy's an ass. Big deal. He's still one hell of a writer who has done some amazing things in the comic book industry. Just because you hold a grudge better than a middle school girl doesn't make this not so. It's called separating the art from the artist.
