Sammitch, I don't want to RESOLVE the plot. I want to write again, and the year gap is to leave a chunk of time where everyone can write everything to say how things went. In the new story, if we'll do it, I will not write how things went... I will just say that now the things are resolved.
I think this is the change we need to leave YEARS of continuity at our back, without starting with a new characters in a new Universe. I'll try to explain me better:
•The fact that metas are discriminated is a continuity trivia. Some use it (Doc for his stories about the MBL). Some don't use it at all (Notwedge for Drake, and even the whole VE concept "forget" the anti-meta laws). To me, the discrimination it's something that it is better to scrap out. It was, but now there is no more, at least in the legislation.
•The fact that Danny has grown accostumed to the painkillers that he can produce by himself, its a continuity fact regarding one characters, that defines him in this moment. It is GOOD, but it has a meaning only if the back story of the character stands intact.
The way I see a relaunch of Vanguard is this: le'ts SAY that all the convoluted plots have been resolved, and the world is a clean place.
Start a story with a bunch of characters: if the characters are new, ok; if they are old, they have their story intact, so Danny is a junk, and Brianna (one year later), if I remember correctly, should be a mother (maybe I am making this up, I couold be wrong...) But their personal life it's import only in the way it interact with the lives of the other characters.
The importance should be given only to the story: it's Pro's lesson, I took years to assimilate and understand it, but I believe (I hope) I am ready to apply it.
I will start a new thread devoted to see if we can start a new story. Whoever is interested, not just to join, but even just to have a say on the thing, move there and talk.
