Nothing to do with the upcoming prequel. Sorry.
I was just flipping thru some of my SW literature, and I began to wonder...
Palpatine. The former senator from Naboo who eventually became Emperor.
One thing can be said about him: he was definitely attuned to the Force. At one point he was probably the most powerful Force user in existence (his ability to operate side-by-side with the Jedi Council is proof of this.)
And we've all heard the "rule" laid down by Yoda at the end of Phantom Menace: Only two there are. A master and an apprentice.
So, who the fuck taught Palpatine the Dark Side? Who was Palpy's Master? I'm sure at some point before Episode I, Palp surpassed and murdered his mentor, but does anyone, in any of the EU lit, mention Palpy's induction/training in the Dark Side, or his Master?
Seems like a pretty interesting piece of fan fic.

Hmm, I've read just about everything I could get my hands on and I don't remember them mentioning who his "Master" was.
Then again, there's a lot of material to go through...
