It's actually very different from Rorschach. V is a very complex character. From the little I've seen from Anarky they seem to share nothing but some similarities in the costume. I recommend V for Vendetta to anyone who enjoys Moore's work.

It's about London in the future (1999). After surviving a nuclear holocaust the city has transformed into a facist police state, with a big brother and all. V is sort of an anarchist vigilante (more of a phantom of the opera character) who plans to single handedly bring the goverment down. The reader doesn't know much about him though... He rarely talks (I can't remember if he does it at all) and never takes his mask off. The story is more from the point of view of Evey, a girl he rescues from some punks early in the story that comes to live with him.

As a movie I thought it was good. I, as well, have never the book, and despite that I'll take your word for it being a sucky adaptation, but didi you hate it as a movie as well?

I enjoyed it as one enjoys mediocre movies until I read the comic.
