I don't see why ANY advanced race would want anything to do with us. Maybe they would observe us, but if I were an alien, far more advanced than us, I would very quickly become bored and disgusted with humans. We're far too violent and backwards a species. Hell, we'll be damn fortunate if a SUPER advanced race doesn't decide to blow up our planet because they viewed us as being a dead end spcies, similar to the Dinosuars.
Perhaps we HAVE ben visited by aliens. Perhaps the laws of physics CAN be bent or altered, or they are actually far different than our primitive minds can comprehend, enabling faster than light travel. But I DO believe we are NOT the only intelligent lifeforms in the entire universe.
