Q: If a tree falls in the woods and there is no-one there to hear it does it make a sound?

A: Yes

It depends. If the tree falls and nothing is there except for the tree and nothingness, no. If there is more than just the tree in existance, ie the forest, yes. If the tree, in any state of it's existance has ever been observed (according to generally accepted theories) then yes it makes a sound. If the tree falls in outr space it makes a sound but nobody can hear it scream.

Agreed, but the tree in question is in the woods not the vacume of space.
