Don't me! I never said that the question was unimportant. I implied that nerds have a tendency to overanalyze a problem, thus creating a completely different (and often unanswerable) question.
It is as important to exclude all possible factors outside the realm of a stated problem as it is to include all possibilities within. Or, to put it another way, in THE QUEST FOR KNOWLEDGE it is important to recognize the question at hand.
But nerds, with their complicated ways, tend to forget this fact. Simplification without oversimplification is step one.
