Being admittedly unclear about one particular historical event (which I even asked if I was remembering correctly) is different than a debate on the concept of "freedom." The whole point is that people who are "free" have the right to make bad choices. If the people in a country believe communism is the best route and they voted for it, then that's their right to go that route. Our deciding for them who would lead their government is treating the people in the country like they're children.
