And that, grasshopper, is why you fail. Don't try and emulate me, or anyone else. Emulate yourself. Write like Phil. That's all you have to do. This stuff isn't to impress the other, or one-up anyone. It's not to entertain, either. It's writing because you want to write. Because you need to write. Because you toss and turn at night, some burning tale begging to escape your mind, and become as real as the blinking cursor in front of you.
Just fucking write, Phil. Write something new. Take what you absolutely suck at in writing....and write that. The more you do it, the better you become. The better you become at what you suck at, the even better you become at what you excel at.
