You're right. Men and women are considered equal under the law. Maybe we should take a poll, but I would guess that the response of RKMB posters would be:

24 yo female teacher spreads for 14 yo male student; cool or not cool? 95% of male respondents would say WAY cool. Females would be Slut! 50%, EEooo 25%, Whatever 25%.

Pose the question as a 24 yo male teacher bones 14 yo female student and you'd probably get 99% in favour of castrating the SOB. The 1% would be Pariah, who doesn't know his asshole from his elbow to begin with.

So if we're all equal, why such a different reaction? I think it goes to societal concerns about lineage and inheritance rights. Also, the power dynamics of the relaionship, both physically and social status wise are hugely unequal. But is this percieved inequality real? Are there girls out there who could say 'Why don't I blow this old perv a couple of times, insure an A and spend my time on other things?'. I don't know. But I'm not sure applying the law equally in all cases is a good thing.
