WHOO!

This is officially the best news of 2005!

Seriously, this is brilliant. Doctor Who was my favourite telly programme when I was growing up, and I buy the old episodes whenever I can.

Plus, I'm english, so I get to watch it before the americans for a chnage.

It's listed at bit torrent but when you click the link, it's just a page of gibberish. But it's Rose, the episode that was leaked.

I just saw an advert for this on the CBC. It starts April 5...but it looks nothing like the Doc that I remember. The special effects though (Mr. Paddle-hand...murderous manaquins...) leave a lot to be desired. I'll give it a go, but....

My older brother downloaded Rose when it was leaked and I got a copy of it yesterday.

I likes. Now to suffer until it gets over here.

The second season of Doctor Who won't have Christopher Eccleston playing the Doctor according to the latest news reports.

Eccleston quits Doctor Who role

Actor Christopher Eccleston has quit as Doctor Who after just one episode of the new series, the BBC has confirmed.

Eccleston, whose first appearance as the Doctor on Saturday attracted around 10 million viewers, is leaving at Christmas as he fears being typecast.

Talks are taking place to replace him with Casanova star David Tennant.

The BBC has commissioned a second, 13-part Doctor Who series, which will again be written by Russell T Davies and feature Billie Piper as Rose.

Yeah, but the BBC hasn't made an official announcement yet. This is all coming from an "unnamed source" at the Beeb, and is being reported by The Sun (UK version of The Enquirer). And, some are thinking this is an elaborate April Fool's joke on the part of exec producer Russel T Davies.

Still, knowing how fickle Eccleston can be, I wouldn't put it past him to come-and-go like this. Not a great move for a series just getting re-started again after 16 years...

The only good thing about this is that the doctor regenerates, which I think came about as a result of needing to change actors, but don't quote me on that. I know I read that that's an advantage of regeneration, for dealing with unrulely actors.
