I won't pretend to be a Transformers expert after all this, but I thought the death of Optimus was generally Megatron's fault? He did shoot the truck, after all.

Okay, in the movie, Optimus called him 'my old friend'. And then later in the TV show they mention he doesn't know when he was made. So is that implying he knew Optimus back when he was a little robot before Megatron killed the little robot? Like how Elita was Ariel before Megatron killed her?
