I totally understand your point, but I'm not saying they shouldn't progress. I'm saying that if they want to do that, if they want to change Bugs to Camaros, don't use the same characters. If they can't get the rights to do it right, don't do it at all. Put it a generation ahead, or even rewrite the story from scratch. But if they're going to use the original names to cash in on fanboy nostalgia, they should do whatever it takes to get their hands on the original designs, or a close representative. Anything else would shortchange said fanboy.
