GM cars to appear in new Transformers movie

Los Angeles, California - GM used its sixth annual pre-Oscar fashion event at Paramount Pictures in Hollywood to introduce four new Transformers characters, which switch from GM vehicles into action heroes in the upcoming "Transformers" motion picture. The live-action film, from DreamWorks Pictures and Paramount Pictures, will be released July 4, 2007.

"Bumblebee" changes from a Chevrolet Camaro; "Autobot Jazz" is a hardtop version of a Pontiac Solstice; "Autobot Ratchet" is a Hummer H2; and "Ironhide" transforms from a GMC TopKick medium-duty truck.

A quick glimpse of the new Camaro was spotted in a Transformers trailer, which began appearing in theatres on December 20, 2006, and is currently the most-viewed movie trailer on Yahoo!; the trailer also contains images of the Solstice, H2 and TopKick.
