personally, i've never been a fan of cap'n marvel. admittedly, i haven't given much of an effort, but even in the "rejuvenated" JSA title, and through johns', i'd consider, great work, he just doesnt' have any appeal to me.
in fact, the only story in which i liked the big cheese was in kingdom come, where the character of billy batson was manipulated by an evil force, taking advantage of the inner child (literally) to take control of the world's mightiest mortal.
i quite enjoyed that take, as much as it will, no doubt, piss off the true fans.
