As Pro said, they're two different types of comic book films. Spider-man is supposed to be more pop-ish than the X-Men just due to the kind of character he is. The Spider-Man movies are just a lot of fun while the X-Men movies are more engrossing due to the characters and how they interact (I'm, of course, excluding the last movie).
