Yeah. I already commented on that part.

Terri Schiavo is in a hospice by the way. In case people aern't aware what a hospice is, that is a place where people go to make their last days comfortable. A place people go to die. It is not a public hospital and given the solemnity of the purpouse of the facility, it is not a place where a full-on three ring media and ideological circus is appropriate.

A hospice is where people go to die in peace and comfort. It is not a forum to create a public spectacle.

I also hear that children are being employed to try to sneak into the facility with "symbolic" food and water. "Symbolic" obviously because Schiavo can't swallow voluntarily. Water or liquid food introduced into the mouth /throat will cause an involuntary reaction and she'll aspirate it into her lungs and drown. She has absolutely no control over swallowing. The "hospital won't let her mom give her an ice cube!" thing was something I heard. I didn't understand that it could kill her, (irony meter - tick!) Bad me for not thinking that through.

I'll leave it up to others to debate the appropriateness of subjecting innocent children to complex social issues such as this. I however strongly object to this callous disregard to the issue of death with dignity that these protesters are denying not Only Schiavo but every single patient and family inside the hospice.
