It was a story in the 60's (don't know the original issue but it was reprinted in The Best of DC Digest Book #8, Dec. 1980). Clark Kent was 'blinded' and forced to give up his identity and start another one. He ended up being a butler named "William Digby" and was hired by a master jewel thief. During a party, Superman was being summoned and in order to escape, he was shown pouring two large bottles into a punch bowl and called it 'The Prince's Punch'. Being suspicious, Clark was ordered to drink it by his boss (thought he was slipping him a mickey). Of course, Supes isn't affected by it so everyone drinks up. Next panel, everyone's woozy and falling down from the drink while Clark changes to Superman.

Now that's MY kind of hero
