The problem is that he won't just go away. This thing started months ago, but was confined strictly to one THREAD. Then it stopped. Oakley left. We all moved on with our lives. Rex easd up on shredding Sneaky Bunny. We all realized that Sneaky and Wings were pretty fine additions to these boards. The alt-Oakleys popped up, but were either kinda funny or mostly ignorable. Life moved on.

About two or three months later, he came back. He posted in a few boards, making comments that were a couple of months late in their relevance, but ignorable. Things seems like they were back to normal.

And then the flame-war started up again. All over the Off-Topic forum. Not just in "I hate..." threads, or "Sneaky Bunny sucks" threads (though those were created early in his return), but in EVERY thread. Every thread, no matter what the topic was, saw Oakley attack Sneaky or Wings or Rex or MisterJLA or whoever. This round of attacks was literally out of nowhere. So these people attacked back. Oakley was fueled and unwilling to stop. I tried talking some sense into him when it was realized that he was still pissed about some "gay incest" crack. I was ignored. Other people tried to talk him down, but were ignored. And then we were treated to Nazi/Hitler cracks, which offended Darknight613 (an uninvolved party). He was asked repeatedly to stop making those comments and knock off the flame war. He refused, saying that he wasn't going to stop until he got an apology and that any offensive comment he made was Sneaky's fault. More Hitler/Nazi, with some nice Al Qaeda thrown in.

More shots taken by more people. More shots taken by Oakley. More alt-Oakleys. And on it goes.

And then Sneaky Bunny posted the origins of this whole stupid thing. And - whattaya know? - this really DOES go back to a "gay incest" crack...directed at two people. One of whom demanded and got an apology on that same page, the other who did nothing for months. BUT!!! This goes back farther to a "Got Milk?" crack which, even now, reads as a silly comment and not the "slanderous attack on character" that Chris makes it out to be.

The fact is, everyone else DOES post to each other. The other boards are busy with all sorts of commentary, jokes, flirting, and general traffic. Sneaky Bunny is very active in the Women and Media Forums. I pretty much bounce from thread to thread, even starting a few. Rex, Wings, MisterJLA, Nowhereman...EVERYONE posts EVERYWHERE.

Except Chris. By his own admission, he doesn't think that he CAN post anywhere else. In his mind, Sneaky Bunny has ruined his life. But he won't stop, even though people have pointed out many times that he's become a laughingstock and that there's no way he could win or even save face. But he continues his attacks and he just gets made fun of more.

The answer isn't "just ignore him or tolerate him" anymore. Why do so many people need to be inconvenienced by one person? Why does Darknight613 have to "suck it up" and "ignore or tolerate" insensitive comments just because one poster decides to make them? Why do we have to pretend he doesn't exist, when it's clear that he WON'T go away? Why does the psychosis of the one trump the desires of the many? Chris refuses to respect others and, by his own admission, can't stop making rude, insensitive posts. By his own admission, he can't and won't post in any other forum.

Chris, for a period of time, should be banned. It's obvious that his presence here is doing more harm than good - for himself and others. Maybe the best thing for him is an enforced period away from these boards, where he feels persecuted but won't leave of his own volition.

But - hey - that's just my opinion.

[Just added] I'll also admit that Uschi and Backwards7 make good points. I'm choosing to mark him on my ignore list. I will not be responding to him or his comments anymore. I think that everyone who wants to see him gone, or just see an end to this stupidity, will do the same. Hopefully, he'll take the hint. Hopefully that things will return to normal - including a former-mod getting his title back. We'll see.
