This is a report from someone at the show!

Quote:

-Booker T won the 30 man battle royal that didn't air on PPV.

-The reason why Eugene received no response was they didn't play his ring music until he was more than halfway to the ring.

-Shelton Benjamin and Chris Benoit both needed help to the back after the Six-Man ladder match.

-The crowd was dead during JBL vs. John Cena because they were exhausted after Shawn Michaels vs. Kurt Angle. They were on their feet for most of that match. Kurt Angle was over big during, and after the match. Quite a few people were booing Michaels. The crowd also seemed surprised that the JBL-Cena match was that short.

Biggest Pops

1. Hulk Hogan (by far)
2. Steve Austin
3. Batista
4. Kurt Angle
5. Undertaker

Most Heel Heat
1. Muhammad Hassan & Khosrow Divari
2. Randy and Bob Orton
3. The Sumo Match
4. Edge
5. Shawn Michaels (when he got out of the first Ankle Lock)

There was a battle royal held at Wrestlemania despite it not being aired on either Sunday Night Heat or during the PPV composed of your favorite Sunday Night Heat and Velocity stars. WWE boasts such a large roster that at least half the wrestlers have to be left off major PPVs, but this battle royal was a good way to get a huge group of wrestlers involved.Raw wrestlers wore red shirts and Smackdown wrestlers blue shirts. 28 wrestlers competed, 14 from each brand.

From Raw, the participants were Simon Dean, William Regal, Tajiri, La Resistance, Gene Snitsky, Hurricane, Rosey, Chris Masters, Viscera, Rhyno, Val Venis, Tyson Tomko, Maven.

From Smackdown the wrestlers were Booker T, Paul London, Heidenreich, Spike Dudley, Nunzio, Funaki, Doug Basham, Danny Basham, Orlando Jordan, Mark Jindrak, Luther Reigns, Scotty 2 Hotty, Hardcore Holly, Charlie Haas and Akio.

Booker T was the winner as he last eliminated Chris Masters and the monsterous Viscera clad in a red short. Booker was the biggest star to not appear on Wrestlemania so this was a nice gesture on the creative team's part to have him win. Expect to see this as a an extra in the forth coming DVD.

Here's the list of WWE stars that were completely left off Wrestlemania all together and weren't even in the battle royal.

From Raw ...

Eric Bischoff
Garrison Cade (coming soon)
Ivory (Hosted WWE Experience)
Mark Henry (Injured)
Matt Hardy (personal problems)
Molly Holly (did appear at outdoor WM Fan Frenzy)
Steven Richards (injured)
Todd Grisham (Hosted WWE Experience)
Victoria (see Molly)

From Smackdown ...

Bubba Ray Dudley (coming back any week soon)
D-Von Dudley (ditto)
Chavo Guerrero (injured)
Dawn Marie
Hiroko (if Kenzo is off tv, she's off)
Jesus (neck injury)
Josh Mathews (selling Smackdown beating)
Kenzo Suzuki (collapsed lung)
Lauren Jones
Rochelle (employment status in question)
Shannon Moore (recovering from car crash)
Theodore Long

WWE did a pretty good job of getting most everybody that wasn't injured involved with Wrestlemania one way or another. They never have general managers on Wrestlemania. Bischoff and Long know that and they don't mind as the've admitted that the focus should be on the wrestlers.

Dawn Marie wasn't one of the seven divas to escort a Hall of Famer despite being a major fan of 80's wrestlers. This will be the third straight Wrestlemania in which she was completely left off of.

kurt was friggin awesome. michaels put on a great show, too, but i really hope he moves over to smackdown to continue that feud. ...and then also gets rid of the weird metal cage he wears. ...and the awful theme.

Reminds me of that episode of Tough Enough during season 3 where the guys all had to run and work out in the ring wearing just their jockstraps.

And I pity whoever had to shave Big Show's ass.

They should turn Batista's 'signature' move from the 'thumbs down' he's beaten absufuckly to death over the last few weeks to that funky 'Cabbage Patch' dance he did when he came out for his match at WMXXI.

Been avoiding this place because I hate youse all so much!

Just joshing! I truly love you all from the bottom of my heart - I just didn't see Wrestlemania until last night!

I enjoyed the show but I seem to have a very different opinion to the important parts(I had no anticipation for the title matches!)

Somehow I knew Eddie and rey would be opening the show! This was my tip for match of the night, if WWE allowed them enough time to work their magic! I think I was anticpating this match way too much - it was fucking crap. These guys have wrestled before in pure classics, this match should in no way reflect what they have done in the past! I would agree with nowhereman about Reys poncey mask - I started getting really pissed off with him rearranging it whilst he was supposed to be selling! I think it was the right result!

I was looking forward to the Ladder match but I didn't have much hope for it because I felt too many people were involved, even though most were talented, I thought too many chefs would spoil the broth! I was pleasently surprised in this exciting match! I had no idea who would win, which probably increased my enjoyment - I was shocked that edge won, what will all his backdoor shenanigans! Sheldon was shit hot - The T-bone and his running jump outside the ring were cool! Benoit also was pretty good. As Nowhere said, it was a bit crappy how only 2 or 3 would be in action at any one time.

I'm not a 'taker fan but I really wanted him to keep his record intact! I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this match, so much so, it was my match of the night. You guys mentioned a few fuck ups but I think these guys both worked hard and obviously talked the match thru - I think Rey and Eddie should have tried to follow this example of planning their match instead of just hoping they would have a good match!

wimmens match. I liked hemms wrestling attire.

Angle and Michaels. My and most peoples tip for match of the night. It was good but not great. I expected much more from these two. Much much more. However, it was a good(correct) result and the Angle straps was a classic.

Sumo, Show was amusing as he came to the ring. I was watching akeboner in some mixed martial arts matches - he's crap. This match was feh.

Cena/JBL - what the? The match ended out of nowhere - probably for the best but what the hell. After seeing all those JBL near escapes in his previous matches.......

Batista/hhh - I really thought hhh was going to win. Can't reall comment too much on either this or the last match because I started reading some comics.

As I said, I enjoyed the show, I probably expected way too much from the Angle/Michaels and Eddie/Rey matches, to ever really be able to enjoy them.

I found the JBL/hhh confrontation quite amusing - the two most useless twatish champions in a long while chatting about how great they are. Flairs wooooooooooo in Orlandos face was amusing!

The first estimate of the buyrate for Wrestlemania 21 is coming in at 940,000! WWE had hoped for 1 million buys, and after more numbers come in, it's conceivable that WWE could reach that number.
