On NBC this morning, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani had his foreign policy credentials questioned. As he defended the president's escalation plan, with his own additional remarks about measuring the success of the plan, Giuliani was asked point blank "What does a mayor know about what's going on in Iraq, and foreign policy?"

The remark was prompted by Giuliani's comparison of securing Baghdad with his programs to decrease crime in New York City. The presidential hopeful offered up a variety of evidence of who he has spoken with and his travels as proof that he could speak on foreign policy.

Giuliani also referred to Anbar, the violent Sunni province in Iraq, as "Anwar."
