Actually Obama's father was virtually absent from his life. I'm not sure how big of a role Rudy's crooked Dad played in Rudy's life but if he was there more, than it could be argued that Rudy's father was a bigger role model for Rudy than Obama's absentee dad was. Irronically Obama could emphathise with the kids Rudy has abandoned for third wife & political career.
