...pretend?
I ordered pizza the other day from this pizza place that's owned by a family of Russian immigrants(and judging by the accents, somewhat recent immigrants), and when I got the pizza box, I noticed "God Bless America" and a big American flag on the box. For some reason, this caught me off-guard. I suppose there's a perception that foreigners aren't patriotic like natives are; that they aren't capable of being "true Americans". When you think about it, it makes more sense that foreigners would be even more patriotic than natives. Afterall, most come here because they aren't happy with their own countries. Why wouldn't they be appreciative of a place they chose to come to?
Just something that this discussion reminded me of.
