the trailer, alone, looks better than both spider-man movies in full.

i really dig this franchise -- they did it right.

I finally saw the trailer today. Beast looks great! I'm very excited about this one. Looks like Summer of 2006 is going to be a big one for Superheroes.

Beast looks good, which was my biggest visual worry.

But character-wise, I'm concerned that this movie will have so many characters in it that there won't be enough room for an actual story.

At this point I dont give a fuck. Singer laid all the groundwork for that "story" business. I'd be happy with a 90 minute battle royale jerk-fest.

It was all that 'playing a man who had a sex-change, and loved fucking with her adoptive sons mind and cock' business in Nip/Tuck. She's tainted as far as im concerned, you cant play a post-op gay tranny who enjoyed incest and then go back to playing pure-hearted Jean Grey

What made the first two movies entertaining to me was the small group of characters they focussed on. I don't mind a larger cast of characters, but it seems like there are going to be too many of them. Hopefully, most of them will just be in the back ground for the big fight we all know will happen, and that's why they are being mentioned. If the new movie continues to keep it's focus on the smaller, main group of characters, with an addition or two, it works. If it's just one big throw down, sure, I'll see it in the theartres, but I may never care to see it again. Throw downs can only be viewed so many times. It's character plots that keep me coming back for more.

Russell. Claire's third season boyfriend.

He's also Spacker Dave in The Punisher, but let's not mention that again.

As for the large cast of characters: The new additions may not have big roles, they might just be filling out the fight scenes. The first two had a bunch of supporting characters floating around the fringes (Toad, Sabretooth, Colossus' bit part in the second, that sort of thing), but they were the smaller parts. There was still a main story focusing on a few primary characters.

    X3 Officially Titled
    Fox makes a Stand.
    by Stax
January 24, 2006 - The XVerse has been advised by 20th Century Fox that X-Men 3 has now been officially titled X-Men: The Last Stand. There had been rumors of that new title for awhile.

"X-Men: The Last Stand, is currently being cleared for usage. The title also appeared in a review of 2006 films by USA Today, lending further support to the notion," reports The XVerse.

In related news, The Comics Continuum reports that the novelization of X3, adapted by X-Men comics scribe Chris Claremont, will be released by Del Rey on May 16.

The novel's official plot synopsis claims that in X3, "with the help of new recruits The Beast and Angel, (the X-Men) must face evolution itself in the form of their former teammate, Jean Grey! Possessed with the cosmic power of the Dark Phoenix, the resurrected Jean Grey has become a danger to herself, her mutant comrades, and the entire planet! To stave off this imminent threat to humanity, a potential cure is discovered and processed to treat -- and ultimately eliminate -- genetic mutations, once and for all! Now, as the battle lines are drawn, the X-Men, led by Professor Charles Xavier, must contend with both Jean Grey's world-consuming powers, as well as the malevolent Brotherhood, a band of powerful mutants organized under Xavier's former ally, Magneto!"

Bullshit. That depends entirely on how much money 3 makes.

Well, I agree, but I'm just repeating what's been said so far. I certainly don't want them to stop at X:3.

Unless it sucks and they can't ever get Bryan Singer back.

If the movies continue being as great as they are, I think that X-men can go to at least Rocky level. If they turn out to flip-flop between sucky and awesome movies, they just might go to Star Trek level.
