Excellent ensemble flick starring Don Cheadle, Sandra Bullock, Brendan Frasier, Matt Dillon, Ryan Phillipe, Jennifer Esposito, Terrence Howard, Thandie Newton and Ludacris...among others.
Best film I've seen in quite some time.
It's set in L.A and is about the chance interactions of several sets of people over a 24 hour period. The film deals very strongly with issues of racism and prejudice; both subtle and overt.
It's a very powerful film...at times funny, sad, thought-provoking and incendiary. This film very frankly examines the the real person hidden under the blanket of "P.C." that permeates our culture.
No matter what you look like, no matter what you think your attitudes about race and ethnicity may be, I'd say that most people on this board will find that they share quite a bit in common with more than one character in this film.
If you haven't seen it, may I suggest checking it out when the showing of "Episode Three" you've gone to is sold out. You may not like it as much as I did but, I'll bet it will make you think and elicit more emotions than Lucas' latest.
Then again, considering this crowd, I could be wrong...
The tagline to this film is:
"You think you know who you are. You have no idea."I couldn't agree more.
