David Lloyd was reported to have commented on the script at the recent Bristol comics convention. Superherohype posted a fan report talking to Lloyd, saying "he thinks it was very good for an Action Thriller, but is very much different from the Graphic Novel. He said that the character of Evey is less of a victim in this film and that he had met with The Wachoski Brothers."

When is Hollywood going to learn that Alan Moore does not endorse one single iota of their shit? No matter the cash you throw, he simply will not give in. Bravo Moore. If the corporate braintrust of Hollywood cannot deem to actually try and make a movie that is true to the source, and accurate in theme and character, then, fuck them. The books will always stand taller than the popcorn-pillows of 'Generic Comic Action Thriller' movie...

All he ever wanted was for them to leave him the fuck alone, but now he has to stand in court for ten hours for a movie that isn't worth it and have his name used to sell a movie he doesn't endorse. If these people like the comics enough to make them into movies, they should at least show some fucking respect for the author.

Its his fault, at least with LOEG and From Hell. He owned it and controlled it. If he wanted to not allow a motion picture company to use it, he could have told them to fuck off. Instead, he took the money and tried to distance himself from the productions. With film, you're either in, or you're out, not halfway in between.
Having said that, it seems he is now out, and told DC to fuck themselves. Good luck to him.

i find moore whiny. i mean people have a right to their opinion, but when you do work for hire for DC as he did with the Watchmen I find it a bit arrogant that he think his work somehow would not be used like Bob Kanes or sigal and Shusters(sp?). From my understanding DC gave him a pretty hefty paycheck for that time for writing that book and even back then it was understood that DC was owned by Warner for movie exploitation.....

Yeah I agree. I think Moore is being extremely naive in now refusing his pay cheques for royalties on the movie versions of his ideas, but no more naive than in thinking that the movie version would never affect him, his reputation, or his ability to get sued. Kind of a no-brainer (easy for me to say since this is what I do, I guess).

There is a certain irony here, that Moore refuses to work for DC and Marvel, largely because of what he views as its threat to his integrity, and then allows his work to be sold to Hollywood, possibly the most cynical, backstabbing, amoral industry in the world that isn't illegal.
