I think Rex mentioned that it's making good steady money on word of mouth. I'm sure foreign box office and DVD sales will all total out positively for Batman Begins. That's certainly better than making 100 mil in 1 or 2 weeks and then petering out on accounbt of it being a crap movie, like Batman 4 (whatever it was called, i forgot already)
If we had to make films by guessing what the public wanted, you'd most certainly get another Batman 4 type film.
