No, it rebooted them, starting their universe over again. There was even a "last issue" of the original continuity where their original universe fades out in a white 'Crisis Wave'. A true reboot.

Was the character reset or was stuff just added that made his origin more confusing. Again, the latter is not something I'd call a reboot. That's just a bad idea.

I think that the problem is that, as a techie, I have a much harder definition of the word "reboot" than most. I honestly think the definition has been loosened over the last few decades by creators and companies to instigate reader excitement and, thus, sales.



It merged the Golden Age, Silver Age, and modern 'Hawkworld' Hawkmen into a single being. It's not easy to explain, and I wouldn't neccessarily call it a 'reboot' as such. As I said, more of a "mutilation".
