I as well liked Zero Hour, overall. And besides, it help lead-in to James Robinson's Starman, which was a damn fine story.
I am looking forward to Infinite Crisis as well, and I'd say they had probably been planning something like this for at least 18 months. If the rumors prove true, then the foundations for this were laid in Titans/ Young Justice: Graduation Day which was about 3 years ago.
