Cripsin Glover told BLOODY-DISCUSTING.COM the following regarding his connection to the role of The Joker:

"The rumors that he will play the Joker in the next Batman were also shot down. According to Crispin, they are strictly internet based but he would love the opportunity to do it. He hopes that the buzz might rub off on the studio."

According to BOF sources, Glover is not in the screentesting mix. As I've reported previously - and Glover seems to confirm - his association with the role is a product of fan speculation. In BOF's recent "Who should play The Joker" poll, Glover came in third taking in 17% of the votes cast...

"Expect some 'official' news from the studio around the time the DVDs come out [Oct. 18]."

And Roven denies rumors he's searching for a new, younger Joker for the film: "The Internet has the Joker cast already," Roven says shaking his head. "The 'Net has also cast the Riddler. It's just all rumors. ... The truth is we haven't even decided who will be the next villain."

He says the nod to the Joker in the current movie "was our way of tipping our hats to the very first Batman movie [in which Jack Nicholson was the Joker]."
