i never understood why people got so whiney about her part in 'begins.' was it oscar worthy? no. but, at worst, i found her role unnoticeable. at best, she was just another piece to the pie.

if he's just as aside sorta thing, then i don't mind. i do agree the focus should be on one, the joker.

however, 'begins' was able to tell batman, gordon, ra's, scarecrow, and falcone's story with no problem, because of a proper balance -- some characters getting more treatment than others. it was a good movie, so it could do that.

'returns' through 'b&r' were bad movies (or had elements of bad movies). it wasn't the fault of multiple villains, that was simply an aspect.

with him and phillipe, the "brokeback gotham" trailers can't be too far ...uh... behind.

i have faith in nolan and tone of begins to an enormous extent, so i'll grant the benefit of the doubt. but, just reading the announcement months before cameras even start to roll, i'm annoyed by both of those selections.
