Actually I was thinking of my sister's husband's stepdad's stepdaughter (once more removed from Pete - bro-in-law). She's an attractive girl. When she was five she was attacked by a pitbull and over the next fifteen years got lots of surgery to try and fix her arm.  See the last one in the left hand column? It reads "imi" and means "meaning" in Japanese. I speak the language, and "Imie" happens to be the name of my oldest girl (we chose the name because of the Japanese translation). Been meaning to get the ink done for 3 years now, but only in an Asian country as I don't trust Westerners to write it properly. Last time I was in Hong Kong 6 weeks ago I was going to do it, but I was worried about blood clots and flying (I was only in town for 2 days).

Unfortunatley, getting Chinese/Japanese, etc. letters has been a trend here for a while. I've read articles where Asian tattoo artists hate that people are co-opting (sp?) their culture and images, so that when some trendy guy/girl comes in and asks for a letter meaning one thing, these tattoo artists are inking them with letters that actually mean something else (usually something derogatory).
