I once read an interview with a fairly famous director or screenwriter of mystery stories. He said that, as a general rule, when all you see of a mystery antagonist is a gloved hand, it is generally a tipoff that the antagonist is a female. The glove is to hide the dainty, ladylike, quality of the hand.

To date, all we've seen of our traitor is a gloved hand, correct?
