No fucking way is it Cap. Loki has fucked around with the cameras. Hawkeye isn't Hawkeye - he's something else. I don't know Marvel continuity to work out who though. Ultron? Dunno.

Just re-read it - definitely not Cap and yeah, Loki has screwed with the cameras in the Hawkeye household - but "Hawkeye isn't Hawkeye" - what makes you say that? Seriously, I didn't see anything to indicate otherwise. The end of ish 7 he's holding his son as the kid's brains get blown out and in the beginning of ish 8 its been confirmed that some of the DNA found at the scene is Hawkeye's, and the assassins absconded with his body (so, he's definitely not dead - yet) so I dunno, I just didn't get that it's someone else and not Hawkeye.
Definitely have ruled out Cap and Fury at this point. Still don't know who the traitor working with Loki is - though I like Pro's theory that its a rogue Hawkeye who is presumed dead and free to do what he wants now...

How can Loki be the traitor when he's not part of the team? You can't betray something you're not a part of.
However, Loki is working with whoever the traitor is.

Fuck! I never thought about that.
That would be kinda boring though...I mean, the whole concept of there being a traitor is kinda cool - to have it just turn out to be only Loki mind-fucking everyone is, well, a let down...

I agree. it's "bait and switch" storytelling, not cool. but that's what I'm going with.
that or he's got a Skrull running around impersonating people. which would also suck.

A Skrull. Shitty way of having a traitor who isn't part of the team. Is Fury the Super-Skrull? I'd prefer Loki if it means the real Fury shows up with blood trickling heroically from his mouth and and a surly look on his face.

Amen! Skrulls are something quaint to be laughed at in dorm rooms like the Bat Shark Repellent. Not something to be added to current continuity.

I'll give you that one. It's become painfully obvious that the Ultimate universe is now just following the history of the regular Marvel universe. They're just rehashing for the sake of rehashing.
Which sucks because I'd rather see them do new stuff. But what can you do, you know? Like I said in another thread: the onus for change is on the creators.

I kind of like the concept of following the old storylines - and its not binding on the writers. Ellis said he skipped the Namor story in UFF because he hates the character.

At least Millar has done a good job with the Skrulls. They have to consume a person to become them. That is so twisted its awesome.

what Chewy said. Quote:

yes, but he also admitted to looking at the original Marvel timeline to see "what happened next" in looking for ideas for the trilogy of Galactus minis. they're good minis, I've enjoyed them so far. but they don't accomplish much more than rehashing forty year old stories.
do we really need Ultimate versions of Carnage, Dazzler, and the like? what's the point of smashing forty years of history into a five year period?
and Millar's doing Ult. Namor. cuz you knew it would happen eventually.

I think most people know that Planetary echoes Fantastic Four. I asked Ellis if he was going to do a namor story, and he said he found underwater adventures tedious. I personally loved the idea of Snow finding a ruined Roman bubble city.

spoilage below. . . .
Loki and the Soviet Super Soldiers (including a chinese Crimson Dynamo) take over New York (Doc's original, dammit!) and take down the Ultimates, wiping out the reserves (from the Annual). Black Widow shoots Jarvis in the head and holds Tony Stark at gunpoint to keep him out of things. Hawkeye is alive and being held hostage in a secret lotion (they got into his head and pulled out all of shield's security codes).

I thought about fixing that, but decided it was funnier to leave it in. knowing Millar, he could've very well written that scene. . .

I didn't read anymore of this until getting the book late last week.
That Loki was involved, I think most of us figured that would happen. I didn't point to Natasha.
I really am not sure I like this direction. It appears Jarvis and Pietro, maybe even Wanda, are dead...?

I'm beginning to wish Millar'd skipped it in UFF.
And is it just me, or does no one write Ultimate Reed correctly? Reed, a Nth degree geek, is never going to call Sue "honey."
And it would be just so much cooler to make Ultimate Reed gay.
