But yes, he might brag about the rape, and what of it? He's in prison, and he can't do it again. On the other hand, rapists are pretty badly treated in jail by general population. Treatment in local jails here for serial rapists executed by fellow inmates with wives and daughters on the outside is to insert pipe in arse, insert blunt barbed wire in pipe, remove pipe, remove wire. Or so I'm told.
People generally don't like jail, because often justice is meted out by fellow prisoners. I'm sure judges are aware of that.
So, mind wipe or barbed wire up the arsehole? Kind of puts it into perspective. Zatanna can keep her spells.
And on a more civilised note, who are the JLA to make that call? Other rapists might brag about their victims in jail, but what makes the difference between Sue Dibny and other victims? Why does Light get the mind wipe but no other rapist?
Bats saw a serious offence taking place - inflicting brain damage on a captured prisoner. The portrayal of the recovered Light as furious and seeking vengeance is a pretty accurate characterisation.
I'm still bothered by the portrayal of a rape scene in a comic aimed primarily at kids, incidentally.
