actually the estuaries, mangroves, and wetlands have been debated for decade though. We have talked about it for years and it has been mentioned countless times on discovery channel type shows and in college env science classes for quite some time. It is a fact that the levees themselves are responsible for much of the damage..unaturally chanelling a huge river is not smart, and has consequences..granted, decades and hundreds of years ago no one thought of this..it takes time to change a mindset, just ask the democratic south....and the african americans they've represented for years until recently...
