He was a precursor to Tutti-Frutti Yummy Mummy. It was released in 1975 and discontinued in 1983.

Slave2moonlight here! Do any of you recall the short-lived werewolf member of the monster cereals gang, "Fruit Brute?" I sure do. Here he is alongside his equally ill-fated successor, "Fruity Yummy Mummy."


Ladies and Gentlemen, in an only half-serious appeal to bring back a treasured childhood memory, I submit to anyone who sees this, particularly those who may be affiliated with General Mills cereals, this revival suggestion for both lost cereal monsters:


Other acceptable possibilities could be: American Berrywolf, Howl-O's, Cinna-Wolfman Crunch, Wolf-Munch Crunch, Cinna-Mummy, Scary Berry, Berry Scary, Berry Brute, Nut Brute, Beast Berry, Berry Beast, Nut 'n' Mummy, Peanutbutter Brute, Wolf Crispies, Pharaoh-O's, Larry Harryberries, Mummy Gots Nuts, and a popular choice, Wolfenberry. Of course, one of the cereals could always take another go at being fruity, but they might want to be cautious about taking the route depicted below.

Wolfenberry Cereal
In the early to mid seventies, General Mills originally had a quartet for their monster cereals. We all know about Boo-Berry, Franken-Berry & Count Chocula but the one everyone quickly forgets about is, Wolfen-Berry cereal. Since I was only in my first few years of life, I find the exact details of the taste a bit sketchy, but I had the toothbrush holder I got out of the box, for many years till around the time I graduated high school. I also remember the character on the front of the box to be a Were-wolf like animated character with Wild hair.

I've always heard him referred to as Fruit Brute.

They should bring back Boo Berry and Frankenberry.

I sure do. You should have seen me as a kid, my parents had to separate the Trix colors for me just so I'd get past the first bite, and that was before they added grape and lime.
