It's only one game, and only a fool gets excited over one game, but man oh man, the Lions offense looked a little different yesterday. And by a little, I mean a lot. It's far from perfect, and Garcia was left with one reciever by the end of the game. However, a few solid practices with Mike Williams, and Garcia will have his go-to guy. The scary thing is Mike Williams, the rookie, is the only one of the three number ones who looks like a number one. Roy Williams has an attitude problem. Charles Rogers is an ass, although I will give him the benefit of the doubt. It could be that this turns him around big time, especially since he'll be coming back to the field with Garcia as his quarterback. Still, I think the rookie will be Garcia's guy. The big thing is that the offensive line played for him. They trust him to make plays. It's going to take a few weeks, but if the defense can keep them in games like it did yesterday, the offense just migh come around. I'm not saying this team will do anything more than make the playoffs, but there is still time for key players to get healthy, especially on the offense, so there is still time for Mariuchi's West Coast offense to come together for Garcia.
Whaver happens, one thing is clear: PJP is right about Garcia. He knows the offense, and he's just a really smart quaterback. I just hope he's got another year in him, cause the Lions are going to have to groom a new quarterback. Maybe Orlovsky will be that quarterback, but they need Garcia to stick around for bit right now, cause it's going to take him time to learn the system. It will definately help him to see it played the right way. Maybe if Harrington would have had a veteran to learn from he'd be the right guy for this team. Maybe. Lot's of maybes.
