True enough, but most people go by shortened nick names - William becoms "Billy," Jonathan becomes "Jon" or "Johnny," Michael becomes "Mike," etc. So, is less likely that he'll go by "Kal-El" than just plain "Kal"...




Unless his parents are those kind of parents who insist their kids are to be called exactly what they want them to be called.

I knew a bunch who insisted on "James" or "Michael" or "Jonathan" etc. If he goes into school and his mom says "We call him Kal," he may be ok. But if they say, "His name is Kal-El," well, line the bullies up and get it started.
