Kill The Umpire--But First Get Him Some !@$#^%& Glasses

By now,you're all probably aware of the blown call that cost the Los Angeles Angels Game 2 of the 2005 ALCS,when home plate Doug Eddings botched a simple strike three and allowed Joe Crede to hit the double that won the game for the White Sox.Had I been in Bud Selig's shoes last night,I would have marched down to the umps' dressing room five minutes after the game ended and fired Eddings on the spot;had I been in Arte Morenos,I'd have called my attorney;had I been Eddings,I would have grabbed the first flight out of O'Hare Airport and left the country.
What happens at Edison Field later this week should answer the question of just how much the Angels have been affected(or not) by Eddings' stupidity in the long run.
