See, I never thought The Long Halloween was anything better than average. Maybe reading the individual issues had a different effect than when I read it in trade. I don't know. I found the story to be transparent and figured out the ending before I finished with the first couple of issues. And Hush just seemed to follow that same structure of one mysterious enemy, but in the end you find out it wasn't just him. I haven't read Dark Victory, so I'm not sure how that turned out. At best, Loeb was your standard comic book writer. At worst (i.e. right now) he's an absolute hack.
