Good grief!

I went to Best Buy today to look around, and I noticed a crowd standing around a display toward the Xbox games. It turned out to be a playable demo of the 360, along with Call to Duty 2.

Wow. Just... wow. The graphics were unreal. Very, very sharp and detailed. The display used a flat screen monitor, so that may have helped the presentation, but even on a regular monitor the game would have still looked amazing. I didn't notice any load times at all or any type of lag. I never saw such sharp visuals on a game before.

I played the game for a while, and really enjoyed it. I usually have trouble with first person shooters on consoles (except for the Tom Clancy games, and Mercenaries...I can aim perfectly with those) but I did well with this game. I was using a rifle with a scope, which made sniping fun and easy to get into. I would have done better with a mouse and keyboard, and I hope to FUCK Microsoft manufactures a mouse and keyboard for the shooters games that will be on the 360. Dreamcast, PS2, regular Xbox, none of those systems supported a mouse, and I could never understand why. Pisses me off.

There's one bad side to the 360 looking this sharp at launch...it makes everything else that came before it to look weak. After playing Call to Duty 2 on the 360, I tried Medal of Honor: European Assault for the regular Xbox. It too, was on a nice, flat screen monitor, but it looked nowhere near as good as Call to Duty. Then I looked at the new Gamecube version of the new Hulk game...it looked like a N64 game compared to what the 360 was offering. I don't know: maybe the 360 game was being showed off on an incredibly high priced monitor, and the others were not, but I don't think there could have been that big a difference in screens.

So, that's my story. Thanks.
