aye. the hdtv is what is adding most of the juice, especially with 360. games can continue looking better and better, but to exploit that look, you need the better tv. similarly, dvds and tv shows have already peaked -- even jay leno looks amazing on my nbcHD versus my regular nbc (note: humor not improved through clarity)

like piggie said, xbox has always pushed the graphical angle. all three current systems will look and play better on a hd or digital tv, notably xbox 1. xbox 360 takes all those advantages and exploits them heavily.

i saw and played "call of duty" at gamestop for the 360, on an hdtv, and its amazingly sharp, clear, clean ... the colors are brilliant. the framerate was also at a remarkably high 60 fps -- and thats something that will look great on any tv, hd or otherwise. thats a big appeal for me, as i found pretty much all xbox 1 games had awful framerates. some halo 2 levels were almost unwatchable.

unfortunately... as amazing as i found call of duty to look, i was just as impressed with how boring the game was. the animations and graphics and sound were second-to-none... but holy fuck, was that game garbage. i had a similarly poor experience with perfect dark. again, the visuals were phenomenal, but i just didn't enjoy the game. granted, i didn't like the original PD much, but... originally, when it was still an xbox 1 game, PD was supposed to get this whole amazing makeover, and joanna was gonna be this hot anime-looking chick. all of that is seemingly gone now, and what was once a franchise game now strikes me as life-less.

i am, on the other hand, very interested in rare's other title, kameo. looks like a kick ass little game, with an incredibly impressive graphics boost over its original n64 days (this game has been in development for like 40 yeras, from n64 to cube to xbox to 360).

thats the system seller to me ... but also the only launch game i'm interested in.

and $500+ for one game just isn't in my gameplan.
