Give me strength.

Mr. Hankey was something Matt or Trey came up with because of a parental cliche, "If you don't flush the toilet, Mr. Hankey will jump out of the toilet and get you." and one thing led to another.

Nickelodeon booted Jon K. probably because he planned to make Ren & Stimpy an adult show, screw with the characterizations, and make the plots more redundant and less clever. It took him a decade to finally do this in hopes that nostalgic fans would watch this yak shaving scum of a new show more than once just because he can't just use new characters with new names.

As far as the article itself, even if Matt & Trey did take this idea from the Farralleys, how different is that from any other parodies and impersonations they have done? There was even that time they put the Janet Reno story (where she sent some kid back to Cuba) into the episode "Quintuplets 2000" and it aired only two days later, freaking out a bunch of viewers. So what?

There is no version of this where you come out on top. Maybe your army comes, and maybe it’s too much for us, but it’s all on you. Because if we can’t protect the Earth, you can be damn well sure we’ll avenge it.
