I guess I don't count money that came from a group as an Abramoff conection just because he was also doing bussiness with that group. It's a bit like saying that because they live on the same planet they're connected to Abramoff. It's just more misdirection used to help the guilty get re-elected. Abramoff's bussiness beyond his thieving involved pressuring groups into giving money to the GOP. He was a big player for the GOP & was invited to the White House a number of times. (we don't know how many times because like with Bush's military duty, there are only incomplete records & memory loss)
Abramoff was a GOP lobbyist You can shine the light (or sling mud in some cases) on a couple of Dems but I repeat, Abramoff was a GOP lobbyist Unlike Bush, he was not welcomed at the Clinton White House.
When one party rules the government, voters do hold them accountable. One only needs to go back to the mid 90's when Republicans swept elections on promises of cleaning things up.
