I'll write when I can no matter what happens. The one thing I would say is let's keep Vanguard and MBL as separate as possible, okay? Like the JLA and...er...something gritty in the same universe, I can't think of anything. Anyway, the point I'm making is they can be in the same universe but not interact or share tone.
As it is, I'm gonna try and wrap up number 2 in my next post (I-Man, do you want X-Stream back with the team?) and then I have an idea for 3.
As for randomness, I say keep an element of that (Captain Mid-Nite and Doc Marvelo are both comic characters who benefit from that atmosphere), but use more serious elements as well. In other words, use Quinn, Doug, Hero and others to maintain stability, with the more comic creations able to muck about outside that.
