Good luck Bills fans!
By all accounts, he was a decent guy, and players loved to play for him. He was loyal and honest with his guys, and never pushed them too hard in practice, which players love.
His loyalty to his people cost him his job in the end, when he wouldn't fire John Shoop after years of his offensive offense. That and he would always play a vetern over a rookie, even when they were well past their prime.
When Lovie Smith took over The Bears last year, there a big problem with most of the guys being injured on and off all season, because they were all so out of shape. Lovie ran them through a pretty intense camp, and they weren't used to it. Jauron let them take it easy, and it showed on the field. And I think Lovie's attitude showed this year also, but that's personal opinion...
Also, get used to Jauron's philosophy of playing "not to lose." Ball control wins games. Just keep it close until the fourth quarter, then maybe we can win with a field goal...It'll sometimes work if you have a really dominant defense, but it never works in the post-season.
It's not all bad though. He's not a moron rant and raver like Mike Ditka was, and he won't look like an idiot on the sidelines like Dave Wanstadtt did. He's a pretty calm and cool guy, kinda in the mode of Tom Landry...And he actually is a likeable fellow, just not a good coach...
