BRACKET A CHAMPIONSHIP:1972 Dolphins vs. 1969 Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium
With the weather pretty much shutting down the running and passing games of both teams,it was left to kickers Jim Turner and Jan Stenerud to settle this contest--and Stenerud ultimately prevailed,booting the Chiefs into the tournament semifinals with a 24-yard FG late in the third quarter.Later this week,the Chiefs will host the winner of the Bracket B championship game between the 1984 Niners and the 1974 Steelers.
Final:Chiefs 12,Jets 9
BRACKET C CHAMPIONSHIP:1996 Packers vs. 1995 Cowboys at Lambeau Field
The Pack only managed one TD in this showdown...but thanks to a pair of Chris Jacke field goals,one was all they needed to hold off Dallas and assure themselves of a spot in the tournament semifinals against the winner of the Bracket D title game between the 2004 Patriots and the 2002 Buccaneers.
Final:Packers 13,Cowboys 6
