First of all, "Sacrifice of Angels" was not the episode Dax died. SoA was the re-taking of the station from the Dominion, where Ze'al (Dukat's daughter) dies. Dax was killed in "Tears of the Prophets", the sixth season finale.

Second, while TNG was the prime of Treks from which all others are measured, the DS9 Dominion War was, indeed, its equal.

Third, Voyager was a cardboard cliche' of all other Treks, and quite possibly one of the worst shows ever made. Horrible. Save the holographic Doctor. Robert Picardo is too good of an actor to have to endure those scripts.

Fourth, Enterprise picked up in its third season (like most all Treks do) with the Zindi Conflict. Unfortunately, Berman/Braga felt the need to cancel it after Season Four. Fantastic show. Simple, realistic, and showed the true adversity and hardship of reaching into the vast unknown, and how vulnerable humanity really was in the beginning. I mean, the entire fucking state of Florida was ripped in half. In half! Also, Jolene Blaylock is the hottest woman to ever set foot on the bridge of a starship.

Fifth, welcome back Beardguy! I haven't thought about the good times of Trek in awhile, and, simply reading you posts about TNG and DS9 reminded me to switch to Spike while I was typing this. DS9 is on right now (check the timestamp of this post), and I had forgotten how much fun it is. So, right off the bat you've done me a favor. Thanks chief!

You are very welcome! I am watching Next Generation as I type this, it is "Attached" , the one where Picard and Dr Crusher were captured and had telepathic implants put on them which enabled them to hear the other's thoughts.

Spike has DS 9 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm est, and Next Gen. from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

G 4 has Next Gen. on at 8:00 and 9:00 pm, and 1:00 am.
I'm retaping them, as my original Next Gen tapes are from 1987 - 1994! and will buy the complete 7 seasons on dvd.

I guess it was the right time for me to get back in Next Gen..it's been almost a dozen years since the show ended, and that was apparently adequate time to be away from them to appreciate them again.

This year..is the 40 th anniversary of Star Trek..and I am proud to say I was there with episode one of TOS....I was nine years old in September, 1966, and totally in awe of the show....I vividly remember watching " Court Martial ", which was actually " Menagerie, pts 1 and 2 ".......I remember seeing the phaser cannon firing at the top of that mountain and my jaw dropping down and saying " Wow!"

40 years later...and Trek still can get a "Wow" out of me.

Thank you, Mr. Roddenbury, from us all.

Fuck, you're right! Not sure how I got those confused, except the episodes were pretty close together.

Well, honestly man, the episodes were two-and-a-half years apart. But, the title "Sacrifice of Angels" may have been more appropriate for Dax's death, and that's probably where your brain farted. I make the same kind of mistakes...

We don't really need an episode guide for POS or the series that shall remain nameless.

I agree! I posted links to the three best Trek shows, in no particular order, though Next Gen is my fav of the three. After that, it would be Voyager, then DS 9.

"POS"? TOS?? Are you talking about the original series? Man, that show is great...........if you're drunk or stoned...

I wish Jerry hadn't posted that TNG link. I was going to challenge you to a nerd-battle of TNG trivia Phil....as I could "clean their chronometers, Mr. President".

(BTW, someone tell me what Trek that quote is from, who said it...and bonus points for identifying the 'crossover' actor that says it....Jerry, I'm looking at you...)

Damned if I know, without cheating and looking it up.. assuming it is a thing I can look up! Great question, though, Prom.

To be honest, I am not much of a challenge in terms of quotes and what not. I am an über nerd when it comes to background information, expanded continuity, stuff like that.

Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country

Unnamed Admiral, briefing the President of the Federation about the repercussions of a full-scale war with the Klingons, played by Rene Auberjonois, who also played Odo on DS9.

How many bridge officers on the 1701-D have brothers? Who are the officers? Who are the brothers?

two I think Picard and Worf. Picard's brother burned to death in fire. Worf had his Klingon bro and Paulie from Goodfellas.

Unless you count Lore, Data's "brother" also there is Will's transporter clone who is a clone, not a brother.

If the characters used the term "brother" at any point, then, yes I consider it as well...

Picard, Data, and Worf. Riker never actually used the term "brother" for his clone (*cough*crappyconcept*cough*) so I don't consider it valid.

Bonus points for remembering Paul Sorvino.

What actress played Lt. Robin Lefler?

Which character on Crusher's medical staff also cameoed in two of the TNG movies?

Which two TNG characters were both in the pilots for TNG and DS9?

Rob is suck a pussy? Isn't that atithetic to him being gay? You confuse me with your sly sexual slang!!

And, whether it replaces Rex or not, I think it would be keen (yes, that's right, I said it..."keen") to have Beardguy as a Media mod...

during rex's third meltdown back in October or so....he was so mad at Rob and tried to call him a pussy that he said "Rob is suck a pussy" instead. Quite funny. He then left the boards forever which in RKMBs time is apparently about 3 weeks.

And, yes, I believe 3 weeks is the measured RKMBS-time for "forever"...

I'm kinda bored and lonely because I'm stuck at home on a holiday weekend with a bad ankle...and reading this thread made me feel a little better.

This is basically a caring place underneath the insults and sarcasm..but underneath that is more insults and sarcasm.
