Enterprise was a great concept but poorly executed. i really liked the idea of pre-Federation Starfleet and the lower level of technology after the constant advancements seen in TNG-DS9-Voyager.
But the producers fucked up most of it. The last year was pretty good though, especially for longterm Trek fans who get to see prequel stories to a lot of unanswered concepts and stories.
But in the end it was like the Star Wars episodes 1-3, it couldn't ever stand on its own, it was always a prequel that required an appreciation of the other series.
